FAQ

Mailist is really simple – yet powerful tool – to help you collect and remind about links you want to save for later

What is Mailist?

Mailist is a bookmarking webapp and Chrome/Firefox extension that allows you to save articles for later AND also sends you a weekly email with randomly selected unread articles from your list. You can choose how many links are delivered in a single email in your account settings.

Why is it different from others?

There are a lot of bookmarking tools from the native browser bookmarker to fully formed standalone ones like Pocket and Evernote. But Maillist adds a clever–and really important–piece that's missing in all the other ones: a follow-up mechanism that closes the loop. In this case, it generates a weekly email that takes N random unread articles from your list and reminds you to get to them. Once you do, you cross off the link from your list! That Simple :)

How can I add links?

You can simply add new links manually by entering the urls or using our Chrome extension or Firefox Add-on.

Can I import my browser bookmarks?

Sure, just head over to import feature and import any set of exported bookmarks from Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc. Once the file is uploaded you can freely choose which bookmarks you would like to import and save on your list.

What time the email is delivered?

It's delivered at 13:00 UTC on a day of your choice. Pick the day in your account settings.

How to use Mailist on iPhone?

Best way to use Mailist on iOS devices is to save the website as a shortcut on your Home screen. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open Safari. Other browsers, such as Chrome, won’t work for this.
  2. Navigate to https://my.mailist.app
  3. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the page.
  4. On the bottom row of icons, scroll over until you see Add to Home Screen and tap this.
  5. On the next screen, choose a name for the link on your home screen (Just name it "Mailist"). You’ll see the link so you can confirm it, as well as the site’s favicon that becomes its “app” icon.
  6. Now just tap the new app on your home screen, and it will open the website in its own navigation window, independent of Safari.

That's it!

How to use Mailist on Android Phone?

(Using Chrome for Android)

  1. Launch Google Chrome browser app
  2. Navigate to https://my.mailist.app
  3. Tap on the Menu button. The looks of the Menu button will depend on your device; usually it's an app button that looks like three horizontal lines stacked on each other, or it could be accessed through a hardware button on your phone.
  4. Tap "Add to Home Screen." Done! A shortcut to the website will be added to your home screen.

How much does it cost?

Mailist is free forever! Seriously, I'm personally tired of all the apps based on monthly subscription. Mailist is simple enough to be maintained out of my own pocket, but if you feel like you'd like to donate anything, just contact me. Nonetheless, I'm currently working on some paid features which will available very soon! Stay tuned :)

Can I suggest any feature?

Of course, please do! I am opened to any suggestions. There is a open Road Map, so everyone is able to see my plans but for now, please write me an email or use Crisp chat (in the right hand bottom corner).

Can I remove my account?

Of course! If you don't like the app and you want your account to be removed (and the links you saved), go to your account settings
